Let's take a little break from our Napa trip to talk about what happened the weekend before we left...Hank's First Birthday!!! 

Do you remember the original concept for the lobster-themed bash I posted several weeks ago?

 

I included everything from the original concept in the actual party.

 

 

 Guests grabbed to-go style boxes that they opened to fill with yummy bites!

 

 

The spread featured picnic style Maine lobster rolls and coleslaw.

Cocktails sipped and stirred with striped straws and monogrammed drink stirrers from Society Social.

 Staying true to the theme, we even hunted down the remaining cans of Shipyard's Summer Ale simply for the lobster art!

The mini lobster rafts that started the whole thing!

A cake waiting to be smashed...cupcakes for the guests.

 

One year already! What a fun celebration we had!

Luxe Lifestyle: Favorite New Purchase: Wide Brim Wool Hat

We posted about the wide brim wool hat fashion trend before we left for our trip, but what we didn't know is just how much we would be reaching for our new accessories during our week long stay. It was the perfect addition to our fall wardrobes...even with the weather not as cool as we wanted it to be! Like our booties, it was the one fall trend we just couldn't resist rocking while we had the chance!

Luxe Entertaining: Napa Style

Spending a week in Napa Valley didn't just inspire us to wear the latest fall fashion trends, but the natural, rustic style of the Valley has us loving a whole new kind of home décor.  It may never be a style that we go for year round, but as fall approaches we are totally ready to re-live the week and  throw our own Napa-themed evening inspired by the items we loved most on our trip. 

We envision large farm tables decorated with grapewood vines and vases full of sunflower bouquets, an illuminated setting with strung bistro lights and lots of candles.  A magnum wine bucket stocked with bottles from our favorite vineyards, glasses and tasting carafes for each guest.  Rustic style knives for cheese and wine pairings, and lion's head soup bowls for the best creme de tomate en croute.  We're sure a post-dinner bocce ball rematch will be in order (the boys were sore losers).

Once our weather gets cool enough to feel like fall, this evening will be happening! Stay tuned!

We're back!

We have so much to share about our fab trip to wine country, but give us a chance to settle back in and regroup. 

We've been talking a lot about fall fashion trends lately...And another one on the top of our list is suede booties.  This was confirm when both showed up to Napa with pairs of our own!  Great minds think alike!
