Local Flavor: Buccan

We are excited to kick off a new series of posts titled "Local Flavor" where we will make our way around all of our favorite dining spots in South Florida.  Featured restaurants will include not only those who serve the most savory dishes and creative cocktails, but also those who have a vibrant dining atmosphere and a superior design asthetic.
First up is Buccan!  Located on the island of Palm Beach, Buccan's signature small plate, tapas style dining makes it one of the best spots around to combine fine dining and night life.

When you first enter Buccan, you will find the bar on your left and a warm and welcoming lounge to the right filled with sofas, highback chairs, cocktail tables and plenty of pillows! The lounge serves mostly as a waiting area, but it is actually our favorite place to eat! We love grabbing an intimate table by the front window, where we can take our time ordering and have our fill of people watching.

The Lounge

The pierced lanterns are always lit, and vases filled with tropical foliage and orchids adorn the restaurant throughout.   A communal table joins the lounge with the main dining room, and is the perfect spot for a large dinner party!

We even love the bathrooms that include fun, regency items like the lucite cart and rattan fan chair below.

Supporting local farmers, the menu items change from time to time, though we never find ourselves disappointed!

A glimpse of our most recent dining experience:

Chez Suzette and Raspberry Lemonade to start.

Burrata. Our hands-down favorite, and what we we always order first.

We were so excited to see Squash Blossoms on the menu!

Next up is the Brisket Spring Roll.  One order is perfect to share!

The Shortrib Empanada

The Brick Oven Roasted Pork Taco.  So good, we ordered this twice!

Other menu items we love, but could indulge no further!
Tuna Tartare
Beet Salad
Hot Dog Panini
Ricotta Gnocchi
Italian Sausage Pizza
Wood Grilled Prime Burger
Now we're hungry.  We hope you'll check them out!
