We've been working with a client on a whole home overhaul. She was ready for a big change, a fresh coat of paint on the walls, new flooring and a major furniture purge.
One of the first rooms we focused on was her breakfast nook. Understandably so, she didn't want to devote too much of the budget to the nook. She already had a custom banquette, so we saw a wonderful opportunity for some fun, new upholstery. Remember how much we are loving the upholstered banquette look?!
The old nook had lots of yellow, red and black, so we freshened up the corner with some white paint and a bright turquoise fabric to introduce a new color palette. A white faux bamboo pagoda chandelier gave it that touch of vintage Palm Beach we love, and the tulip table and ghost chairs added modernity to the space. We brought in a sisal rug to delineate the nook, and for a very personal touch, we commissioned our client's artist daughter to create a beautiful, monochromatic abstract before she left for college. Nothing better than hanging a piece of truly meaningful art! And of course, tropical plants and fun décor accessories finish off the space!
