Luxe Decor: Line We're Loving: Happy Chic for JCP

Don't you love it when a designer line at an affordable retailer totally surprises you?! It's extra helpful when you happen to be moving at the same time the line debuts!  Seriously though, the line is that good! The greek key and the bamboo detail is definitely a detail we cannot get enough of! And the white lacquer finish on the furniture is just as good as his standard line of goods. From the vases, to the serving bowls, to the dinner ware and that dining table, I give my seal of approval, because I've bought it all!!

Luxe Decor: Lucite Chandeliers

The house is far from any kind of a reveal, but I did get my "new" vintage lucite chandelier hung this weekend! A large, oval shape with alternating lucite and brass prisms gives my dining room the touch of Hollywood regency it was missing!  Now if we could just get the dining chairs, walls papered and moulding painted we'll be making some real progress!

Luxe Decor: Kitchen Sneak Peek & Happy Thanksgiving!

We're still appliance-less over here, so needless to say we will not be hosting Thanksgiving Day dinner. But our kitchen makeover is moving right along, new countertops, backsplash, sink and faucet are in!

Luxe Decor: Jewelry Boxes

I've been thinking a lot about creating a vanity space in the new house.  One thing I'll be leaving behind is my own sink and vanity, and my storage will be cut in half.  So not only will I want the space to be beautiful and girly, but functional too. Lots of pretty boxes have been catching my eye (especially that Aerin Lauder splurge. Swoon.)  I may just be investing in a few of these to be sure that all my special pieces have a place!

Luxe Decor: Closing Day & The First Order of Business!

Wish us luck, today is the closing day!! And if all goes as planned, by the end of the day we will have keys in hand, opening doors for contractors to begin work right away.

 

Right now, the projects seem endless...but like Christin did, we will start with the basics, refinishing the existing wood floors to a darker stain, replacing carpet and painting EVERYTHING white!

 

In our opinion, you just can't beat a rich, dark floor and a crisp, white wall!

 

 We will be installing wall to wall sisal carpet upstairs...
