Luxe Decor: Chaise Lounge Makeover

Last month I did a post on my favorite new purchase, chaise lounges from Home Depot.  While I was thrilled to find good looking, simple and affordable outdoor furniture, they still needed a mini make over to make them just right.  As promised, here are the before and afters...

I simply had the original grey fabric reupholstered in a bright white sunbrella.  Swapped out the umbrella for a white one and had black and white bolsters made to coordinate with the striped beach towels.

 

Luxe Lifestyle: Favorite New Purchase: Chaise Lounges

My latest fave purchase is our new outdoor chaise lounges.  These are something I've been looking for since the day we put an offer on our house.  I've always wanted a pool, and what good is pool without chaise to lay out by it?  I've scoured many local shops, antique and consignment stores for interesting, yet simple outdoor furniture, but no luck.  I've combed every website imaginable nearly weekly, looking for an attractive, simple and affordable option... I just about came to the conclusion that outdoor furniture is either hideous or ridiculously expensive...and usually BOTH!  But just last week as I was browsing Home Depot's website AGAIN (with very low expectations), I miraculously stumbled on a Simple and Affordable chaise!  PTL!  

Of course, the cushions aren't white and will probably cost as much as the chaise itself, to have them recovered, but I'll take what I can get!  With them, I've enjoyed out backyard more in the last week, then I have in the last three months!  Of course the perfect 75 degree weather helps too.

Luxe Pools

Like the rest of the country, we are off to a hot and humid summer in Palm Beach.  Lounging poolside is a weekend staple around here, and I love waking up, putting on my bathing suit, and floating around all day.  Because when it is this hot (and you're seven months pregnant), what else can one do?? 

Last year, my husband and I made quite possibly our most valuable investment yet.  We decided to dig up the grass in our postage stamp-sized "backyard" and make the most of the space.

And voila. Our personal piece of paradise.

Did I mention good investment?

Freddy approves.

We enjoy our outdoor living all day well into the evening when we can light our lanterns and have dinner and cocktails poolside.
