Luxe Lifestyle: First Wedding Anniversary Weekend

This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary!  It has been one incredible year.  Many people say the first year is the hardest...if that's the case, we have a easy road ahead, as this past year has been a truly blessed one.

In honor of our special day, we spent the weekend at the Ritz sunbathing, eating, toasting champagne and reflecting on our first year of newlywed bliss!

Luxe Lifestye: My Weekend Through Instagram

I can't believe it is already Monday.  The weekend flew by!  As I look back on Instagram, I realize what a wonderful weekend I had.

A great start to the weekend...My husband surprised me with the desk I've been hinting at for a few weeks now!  More on that and the office to come...

After a long, busy week it's nice to just sit back, relax and enjoy my new surroundings.  Fresh cut hydrangea should alway adorn my coffee table!

Petunia & Gigi are also enjoying a lazy afternoon.

Beautiful Sunday afternoon walk on Flagler Drive & a trip to the shell shop!

A little retail therapy to wrap up a great weekend.  Had to pick up a few winter wardrobe essentials...leather pants, tuxedo blazer, embellished collars, sequins... Ready for season!

Designing The New Digs: Sun Room Sneak Peak

Our "sunroom" may be my favorite room in the house.  It has two full walls of floor to ceiling arched windows and vaulted pecky cyprus ceilings.  The bones of the room are incredible...which creates the perfect canvas for our furniture.

Remember my chocolate brown velvet sofa?  I just got it back from the upholsterer and I couldn't be happier! The crisp white fabric really shows off the beautiful lines of the sofa.
And remember when I posted about my pillow picks?  Well my mom actually hand made both the leopard pillows and black trim pillows herself!  Thanks mom!  They look amazing on the sofa.
And how about the vintage and brass coffee table I posted about here and here...It has never looked better in its new home!

Mornings seem more bearable when I can enjoy this view of our back yard as I sip my coffee.

And the architectural detail looks so pretty at night.

Designing the New Digs: Chinese Chippendale Dining Chairs

Even with a townhouse full of furniture, there are still a few key items I have been looking for for the new house...one of the being a set of dining chairs.  Ironically, the day we were moving, I got a call from a friend with a lead on some dining chairs for sale.  After texting me a photo I was thrilled to see they were one of my favorite vintage chairs and even more thrilled to discover they were selling for $50 each! Without hesitation I told her "I'll take them!"  Thank you Fran!
I plan on relacquering them and reupholstering the seats but they are going to look amazing in our new dining room!

Chinese Chippendale chairs are classic, yet very current.
Here are my chairs used in design layouts...

And here are some other variations of Chippendale Chairs

While it is a vintage style there are a couple current options on the market right now.
Jonathan Adler does a great chippendale chair

Designing The New Digs: Cabana Sneak Peak

So it's been 1 week since closing and boy have we been busy!  I have yet to get my hands on the inside of the house, as we have had the floor refinishers in there all week and now the painters, but we have made major strides in the yard.  Between, weeding, mulching, landscaping, power washing, taking down trees and moving pavers, there has been no lack of projects in the meantime.  It's amazing the progress we've made in just a few short days...the yard is already looking so much better!
Of course, my favorite project has been setting up our cabana area (remember my inspiration board?).  It has transformed the pool area and has actually been quite useful throughout week.  It has served as an escape from the sun in between projects and has been the perfect spot to toast with champagne at the end of the day!  This may easily become one of my preferred spots of the house!

Closing Date!

Today is our closing date!
The day we've been waiting 62 days for (but who's counting?).
The day we will get the keys to our very own home!

The real test of patience though, will come over the next week.  A week that will probably feel like an eternity as we have the floors and painting done, and I eagerly and anxiously await bringing in our furniture.  I CANNOT WAIT!
This has been a long, difficult process that we've prayed about, prepared for, and received wonderful support and encouragement and it's finally coming together.  We are so blessed.  God is so good!
