Luxe Lifestyle: Favorite New Purchase: Blue & White Chinese Pottery

I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Easter!
For those of you who regularly follow the blog, you've probably noticed that we love blue and white chinese pottery.  I inherited a pair of ginger jars years ago from my grandmother and have collected other pieces here and there, but recently I scored some great deals on Ebay.  One bid I won 4 vases for $30!  Score! A couple of weeks ago I featured blue glassware as my new favorite purchase, it which I paired with the blue & white pottery for a dinner party.  Yesterday, I used the pottery again as the vessels for my floral arrangements and focal point for my Easter tablescape.  This time, pairing them with a coral tablecloth and assorted pink, orange, coral and magenta flowers, it was the perfect setting for our springy Easter dinner party!

New Favorite Purchase & Luxe Entertaining: Cobalt Blue Wine Glasses AND GIVEAWAY WINNER!

My latest fave purchase are these cobalt blue wine glasses.  After doing a quick online search for "cobalt blue glassware", I stumbled upon a set of 12 for $35!  Can't beat that!  Something about them is so perfect for al fresco dining.  And I thought they'd look great paired with my blue and white chinese pottery.

After purchasing the glasses a couple of weeks ago, I've been waiting for an opportunity to use them.  This weekend we hosted a intimate dinner party, celebrating some special birthdays...And of course, I was so excited to break out my new glassware.  With the weather being insanely gorgeous, we jumped at the chance to throw the dinner in our backyard.  I was thrilled with the results.  Love the combination of cobalt glasses, chinese pottery, fuchsia flowers, bamboo flatware, monogrammed linen napkins and lots of candlelight.
Such a great even of good friends, food and wine under a sky full of stars!

Luxe Entertaining: Oldie but a Goodie...New Year's Dinner

As I was going through my archives of photos I came across these pics from a dinner party I hosted last New Year's Day.  You might recognize it from our Luxe Report logo...
I'm reminded of what a fun and special evening it was!  Just a small, intimate group of best friends and great food and wine! There was lots of reflecting over the past year and many goals, wishes and resolutions for the year to come! Since that dinner party, between the six of us, we have had one wedding and two babies on the way! (oh yea, and a the birth of our blog!) A lot of wonderful things have taken place over the last 8 months and I look forward to what the remaining year has to offer!
I will say though, we do need to be better about our resolution to have more dinner parties!

When I came across the bunches of beautiful peonies in different shades of pink, it kind of set the stage for the table setting.  I incorporated more pops of pink with the ikat salad plates and homemade favor poppers and drink stirrers.  Using gold as the other predominate color created a sophisticated, glam and festive ambiance. Gold was introduced through the chargers, bread plates, polka dot water glasses and candlesticks.  Other glam elements were the lucite butter knives, cut crystal rose bowls and of course lots of candlelight.  The only things that were necessary to complete the look were my gorgeous friends, yummy beef tenderloin and delicious vino! What a perfectly wonderful evening!

Get The Look

I got my salad plates from Anthropologie but they are no longer available.
These monogrammed ikat dishes are a cute alternative.

My favorite finishing touch...bunches of gorgeous cut peonies!
