We're really starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel...in the kitchen anyways.  We finally received our appliances last week, it's been glorious to finally cook again after almost a month of takeout and microwaved meals!  We're still missing some hardware, but all in all our kitchen is fully functional.  And I'm absolutely loving the uppers I added with the glass fronts and the X detail.  A full post on all the before and after shots coming soon!

Luxe Lifestyle: Friday Vignettes: Farewell to our house!

Yesterday was officially moving day!  And a 12 hour day it was.  How does stuff just seem to multiply when you're moving?! The packing never ends! Now we live just two more nights as nomads, and we will finally be in. Some real progress has been made on the house, can't wait to show you the pictures! Luxe Lifestyle: Friday Vignettes: Kelham Vineyards

Our whole week in Napa Valley was spent visiting the most amazing vineyards, with each one bringing it's own unique reason why it made for a wonderful visit.  At one stop we'd be in awe of the history of the grounds, the next stop tasting in caves. An intimate tasting with the winemaker themselves, and a relaxed porch tasting had us saying each new stop was our favorite.  Our whole week had been meticously timed and planned (thanks to our wine-obsessed hubbies) to manage going from appointment to appointment and fitting in stops for great eats along the way. 

 

On our last day, we visited two wineries before lunch, and made our way to the fabulous Auberge du Soleil for a terrace lunch.  Not wanting to rush one of our last meals, we were actually left with an open afternoon! Left wondering if we'd be able to squeeze one last tasting in, we remembered a nearby vineyard that was recommended before we left.  And if there was ever a time to say that we saved the best for last, this was it! 

 

How amazing would this set-up be for a dinner party?!

 

But with a property this beautiful, we couldn't share just one photo!

The venue is quite perfect for events, or you can simply visit for lunch.  They staff a gourmet chef for daily meal preparation and wine pairings!

 



The wine wasn't half bad either!

It was truly one of the most generous tastings of our whole week, with the winemaker pouring each tasting personally. We didn't want to leave!

 

And if all that wasn't enough, there is a fabulous boutique on the grounds containing custom upholstery using only luxury silk scarves.  It was so fab it deserves its own post. Stay tuned!

A couple of months ago I scored some fabulous vintage Brown Jordan club chairs. A couple coats of spray paint, and a major cushion overhaul (16 cushions in total!) later, we are finally enjoying the fruits of our labor!

Hank's room got a new piece of art this week...a beautiful oil on canvas seaside painting framed in an antique gilt.  And the best part, this was a Homegoods treasure! It even came complete with a Certificate of Authenticity.  Homegoods Happy!

New on Luxe Report...Friday Vignettes.  Where we give you a glimpse of our homes, whether it be a spot where we've added fresh flowers, or a new piece of furniture, or perhaps just moved some decor accessories around (because we're always doing that!).

 

 

Sometimes I find myself feeling "over" the pair of framed blue coral art that I have flanking my armoire. But lately I've had a new appreciation for them.  Especially when viewing the art up close.  It really is a striking blue print, and I love the white lacquered frames. Such a great little sitting area created out of a much larger living space.
