Luxe Decor: Chaise Lounge Makeover

Last month I did a post on my favorite new purchase, chaise lounges from Home Depot.  While I was thrilled to find good looking, simple and affordable outdoor furniture, they still needed a mini make over to make them just right.  As promised, here are the before and afters...

I simply had the original grey fabric reupholstered in a bright white sunbrella.  Swapped out the umbrella for a white one and had black and white bolsters made to coordinate with the striped beach towels.

 

Luxe Decor: Door Knockers

Remember my post last week on all of the surprising finds at Home Depot?! Well in those Luxe Picks I had included this brass shell door knocker:

It just so happens that I'm in the market for a new door knocker, as one of my poor little starfish's arms got chipped while a Christmas wreath took its place.

 

 

These beachy door knockers complement our Key West style home so well! And the beautiful brass and nickel finishes give a very luxe look, when so often beachy decor=cheesy decor.  I just may go with the nickel version of the scalloped shell as it pairs well with the rest of our hardware.

Whether you go for a coastal look, traditonal, whisimcal or a classic ring, door knockers are an accessory for your entry not to be overlooked! After all, it's all about the first impression, isn't it?!

Luxe Decor: Home Depot Finds...Say What?!

Don't you love it when you're perusing your hubby's favorite site for a new washer/dryer and are pleasantly surprised by an abundance of value-priced home decor goodies?! I know we do.

 

Christin had recently found her new chaise lounges at Home Depot, so we knew it wasn't a site to be overlooked...for outdoor furniture! But check out all of these luxe items at pretty amazing prices!

Luxe Lifestyle: Favorite New Purchase: Chaise Lounges

My latest fave purchase is our new outdoor chaise lounges.  These are something I've been looking for since the day we put an offer on our house.  I've always wanted a pool, and what good is pool without chaise to lay out by it?  I've scoured many local shops, antique and consignment stores for interesting, yet simple outdoor furniture, but no luck.  I've combed every website imaginable nearly weekly, looking for an attractive, simple and affordable option... I just about came to the conclusion that outdoor furniture is either hideous or ridiculously expensive...and usually BOTH!  But just last week as I was browsing Home Depot's website AGAIN (with very low expectations), I miraculously stumbled on a Simple and Affordable chaise!  PTL!  

Of course, the cushions aren't white and will probably cost as much as the chaise itself, to have them recovered, but I'll take what I can get!  With them, I've enjoyed out backyard more in the last week, then I have in the last three months!  Of course the perfect 75 degree weather helps too.

Designing The New Digs: Exceptional Entrances

I am in awe of all these incredible entrances I've come across on Pinterest!

But I must say, I love my entry too.  It makes smile when I pull up my driveway.  I love the combination of architectural detail, the metal door and the Mediterranean lantern and tiles.  I'd still like to get a more interesting pair of planters...but in the meantime these will do.  I got them from Home Depot for a steal and stained them a rich brown.
